The legal department is often viewed as a financial cost center that protects a company from legal risks, but it is not a revenue generating component. However, if the legal department is redefined and strategically reoriented, it can become a revenue center that directly contributes to the financial performance of a company. In this article, I share my vision of how this transformation can be achieved and the steps that the legal department can take to become a pivotal component of a company’s sustainable growth.

In the past, I used to link my new beginnings to major milestones in my life: the start of a new Islamic or Gregorian year, a new semester, or even an extended vacation. I saw those moments as golden opportunities to realign my path and make up for lost time, but over time I realized that waiting for them might delay change and weaken its impact.

In a rapidly changing world, the rule has become simple and clear: those who do not strive for progress open the door to obsolescence. In the age of artificial intelligence, there is no longer an excuse not to acquire knowledge, develop skills, and write experiences. Opportunities are available to everyone, and the real challenge lies in taking the initiative and taking the first step.
